Insight About Real Estate and Investing
A Little Bit About Me (Neil Shroff)
I am a Bay Area native who lived in Cupertino and Los Altos Hills for most of my childhood (Tokyo for two years being the exception). I studied Bioengineering but after graduating, I quickly realized the business side was much more interesting to me. I started managing real estate when I was 19 and bought my first property when I was 26. I’ve remodeled numerous houses that I’ve bought and have built 3 high-end homes in the Bay Area (3,800 – 5,200 sq ft each).
By day, I am a investment banker focusing on selling middle-market companies and also teach Mergers & Acquisitions at Stanford. I also spend a lot of my time investing in startups, later stage private companies, real estate funds and cryptocurrency.
I’m writing this blog because I’ve learned so many insider secrets about the real estate industry and about investing (real estate and venture/angel) that most people won’t ever learn on their own and I hope to share my knowledge. I am passionate about the real estate industry and believe there is room for disruption.
I am a licensed broker for the purposes of my mergers and acquisitions practice, but I'm not in the business of representing real estate buyers and sellers. I am passionate about real estate and investing (real estate and venture/angel) so email me if you have any questions about the market, buying or selling real estate, local Realtors, remodeling, or constructing a new home.
